It's amazing to speak with parents and grandparents about computer usage and listen to their comments. "I haven't got time to mess with computers", "Lord, I don't know anything about computers", and my favorite, "Computers are for kids, I have no interest at all". There are a few in my family who are so clueless about cyber technology they actually associate "Google" with incessant staring at someone. There's one in every family, I'm sure! Those parents with no interest that don't take the time to "learn" how to use a computer, are the very same parent's whose kids are staking out on myplace.com! Myplace.com is a great concept for meeting other people, especially for teens and adults, but within that group lurk the lowlife, dirty old men, sicko's, child molesters, wife-beaters, and other morbid sub-human creeps that lay in wait for their cyber-prey, your precious little girls and boys. They look for their cute little cyber nicknames, such as "babylove" babygirl" "babyphat", "inyourdreams", "wetkisses" and of course, "daddysho"! How many times do you walk by your children while they are surfing and actually look at the screen? Do you know what a taskbar is? Do you know how fast a kid can drop a page to the taskbar when someone enters a room? Didn't think so. Do you know the cyber lingo? Most kids are so geared toward computers, now cell phones which have the same online messaging capabilites of computers, speak in a lingo that parents have no way of comprehending unless they have knowledge of computers. Below is valuable information if you have a pre-teen, teen at home that uses the computer. The terms below are used for chatting purposes...similar to the shorthand that most of us took in High School. ASL(R P)- Age Sex Location (Race / Picture) BF / GF - Boyfriend / Girlfriend BRB - Be Right Back CD9 Code 9 - means parents are around GNOC - Get Naked on Cam (webcam) GTG - Got to Go IDK - I don't know (L)MIRL - (Lets) meet in real life LOL - Laugh Out Loud MorF - Male or Female MOS - Mom Over Shoulder NIFOC - Naked in Front of Computer Noob Newbie - often an insult to somebody who doesn't know much about something. NMU - Not much, you? P911 - Parent Emergency PAW - Parents are Watching PIR - Parent In Room POS - Parent Over Shoulder PRON - Porn PRW - Parents Are Watching S2R - Send To Recieve (pictures) TDTM - Talk Dirty To Me Warez - Pirated Software W/E - Whatever WTF - What the Fuck?
